The Self Cleaning Filter is a precision device that uses a filter screen to directly trap impurities, floating debris, particulates, and other contaminants in the liquid, while reducing water turbidity, minimizing fouling, and ensuring the normal operation and service life of downstream equipment.
The Self Cleaning Filter is widely used in the water treatment industry; its simple design and excellent performance ensure outstanding filtration of wastewater. Its main components include: a cleaning motor, an electrical control cabinet, an automatic drain valve, end caps, a filter housing, a cleaning brush, a filter screen, a pressure gauge, and inlet and outlet connection flanges.

When water enters the Self Cleaning Filter through the inlet, impurities are trapped on the inner wall of the filter cartridge, while the filtered clean water flows out through the outlet. As the accumulation of impurities on the inner wall of the cartridge increases, once the pressure differential between the inlet and outlet reaches a preset value, or when the set cleaning time is reached, or upon manual initiation, the filter begins its self‑cleaning process. This self‑cleaning cycle consists of two steps: first, the automatic drain valve on the Self Cleaning Filter opens; second, the motor drives the cleaning brush inside the filter screen, causing the impurities captured by the screen to be discharged through the drain valve. During the cleaning process, the system remains in continuous flow. The entire operation of the Self Cleaning Filter is controlled by an integrated microcontroller, with options for either microcontroller‑based automatic control (based on pressure differential or time) or manual control, as well as PLC electrical control.
