Textile dyeing and printing wastewater treatment equipment
Size:
Textile manufacturing is a time-honored sector within China’s textile industry, accounting for 5–8% of the country’s total textile processing volume. Textile products encompass both pure‑weave and blended fabrics, with wool fibers being the predominant type, alongside other animal fibers. Textiles can also be classified into woven and knitted goods; woven textiles are further divided into coarse‑weave and fine‑weave varieties. Dyeing processes vary depending on the product, including piece dyeing, piece‑dyed yarns, grey‑fabric dyeing, and dyed (pile) yarns.

Introduction to the Textile Printing and Dyeing Wastewater Treatment Equipment Industry
Textile manufacturing is a time-honored sector within China’s textile industry, accounting for 5–8% of the country’s total textile processing volume. Textile products encompass both pure‑weave and blended fabrics, with wool fibers being the primary raw material, alongside other animal fibers. Textiles can also be categorized into woven and knitted goods; woven textiles are further divided into coarse‑weave and fine‑weave types. Dyeing processes vary depending on the product, including piece dyeing, piece‑dyed yarns, grey‑fabric dyeing, and dyed (pile) yarns, among others.
Textile printing and dyeing wastewater treatment equipment; water quality of printing and dyeing wastewater
Pre‑treatment of textile printing and dyeing wastewater primarily involves washing effluent. This wastewater is characterized by extremely high pollutant concentrations, a slightly alkaline pH, and relatively good biodegradability. Typical water quality parameters are as follows: CODCr 20,000–30,000 mg/L, BOD5 8,000–12,000 mg/L, pH 8–9, and lipid content 3,000–5,000 mg/L.
Textile printing and dyeing wastewater varies depending on the processing techniques and the products being manufactured. For worsted‑yarn products, acid dyes and vat dyes are primarily used for both piece‑dyeing and piece‑dyed fabrics. Blended fabrics also employ disperse, cationic, and direct dyes. The pH of the resulting effluent typically hovers around 7, with the main pollutants consisting of rinse water and residual dye solutions.
In general, textile dyeing and finishing processes primarily employ acid dyes, cationic dyes, and disperse dyes. The resulting wastewater typically exhibits low pollutant concentrations, is mostly neutral in pH, and demonstrates good biodegradability. The typical characteristics of such effluent are: CODCr 500–900 mg/L, BOD5 250–400 mg/L, pH 6–9, and colority 100–300 times the standard.
Textile Printing and Dyeing Wastewater Treatment Equipment Technology
Textile printing and dyeing wastewater treatment equipment: Within the plant, textile printing and dyeing wastewater from workshop effluents is collected via the sewer network and conveyed to the treatment system. After passing through a screen to remove large floating debris, the wastewater enters an aeration equalization basin for regulation of water quality and flow rate. A wastewater pump then lifts the effluent to the hydrolysis–acidification tank, where anaerobic microorganisms break down high‑molecular‑weight organic compounds into smaller molecules, enhancing the biodegradability of the wastewater. Subsequently, aerobic microorganisms further degrade the remaining organics into water and carbon dioxide, achieving additional removal of organic matter. Following sedimentation in a clarifier, the treated effluent proceeds to a decolorization unit; this step ensures that the discharged water meets regulatory standards. After sludge settling, a portion of the sludge is recirculated back to the integrated treatment unit. The remaining excess sludge is pumped by a sludge pump into a sludge thickening tank, where it undergoes concentration and volume reduction. The thickened sludge is then transferred by another sludge pump to a plate-and-frame filter press for dewatering. The resulting dewatered sludge is dried and subsequently transported offsite for proper disposal.
Guided by the principle of “two lows and two highs” — namely, low capital investment, low operating costs, high removal efficiency, and high operability — and adopting a holistic perspective that integrates economic, social, and environmental benefits, the process flow has been established as follows: “Grating + Aeration Equalization Basin + Hydrolytic Acidification + Contact Oxidation + Sedimentation + Disinfection.” The process exhibits the following characteristics:
1. The system operates stably and meets effluent quality requirements; the process is well-established and has been successfully implemented. The physicochemical treatment tank handles a portion of organic matter removal, while the biochemical tank completes the degradation of ammonia nitrogen and organic compounds.
2. It features physicochemical treatment control and can withstand shock loads. The sludge exhibits a certain degree of stability, eliminating the need for anaerobic digestion.
3. Aeration is achieved through blowers, with a high-efficiency aeration system installed. The aeration system is evenly distributed across the bottom of the tank, delivering high energy efficiency, low energy consumption, and a small footprint.
4. Requires a low level of automation, with simple and convenient operation and management.
5. Relatively small footprint and low investment.
