Paint‑spraying and coating wastewater treatment equipment addresses water pollutants—such as resins, surfactants, and phosphates—that can cause severe environmental contamination. Coating wastewater is characterized by a complex composition and irregular discharge patterns, resulting in significant fluctuations in water quality. Domestic experience with coating wastewater treatment has demonstrated that a physicochemical–biological treatment process can reduce CODCr to ≤100 mg/L and PO4³⁻ (P) to ≤0.5 mg/L. In engineering design, it is essential to ensure balanced influent quality, implement pretreatment for high‑concentration streams, and provide adequate hydraulic retention time for biological treatment.
Surface coating engineering is one of the surface engineering technologies, comprising three major components: pre‑coating treatment processes, coating processes, and coating equipment. Pre‑coating treatment processes include degreasing, rust removal, and phosphating. During the coating process, substantial amounts of pollutants are generated; if discharged directly, they can cause severe harm to aquatic ecosystems.
In response to the characteristics of paint‑shop wastewater, our company has developed a specialized, highly targeted paint‑spraying and coating wastewater treatment system. The treated effluent meets all national discharge standards.

Working principle of paint-spraying and coating wastewater treatment equipment:
Pollutants in wastewater are classified into dissolved organic matter and suspended solids (SS). Under certain conditions, dissolved organic matter can be converted into non‑dissolved forms. One common wastewater treatment approach involves adding coagulants and flocculants to transform most of the dissolved organic matter into suspended solids, followed by the removal of all or most of these suspended solids to achieve effluent purification. The primary method for removing SS is air flotation. After chemical dosing and reaction, the wastewater enters the mixing zone of the air flotation unit, where it contacts released dissolved‑gas water, causing flocs to adhere to fine bubbles before proceeding to the flotation zone. Under the buoyant force of the rising air bubbles, the flocs rise to the water surface, forming a scum layer. Meanwhile, the clarified water beneath flows through a collection device into the clear‑water tank; a portion is recirculated as dissolved gas, while the remaining clarified water overflows through an outlet. Once the scum on the water surface has accumulated to a specified thickness, it is scraped off by a skimmer and discharged into the sludge collection tank of the air flotation unit.
