      1. Functions and Operating Principles of the Main Components of an AB‑Type Chlorine Dioxide Generator

      (1) Water ejector: A water ejector is a suction device designed based on the jet principle. When pressurized water flows through the ejector, it creates a negative pressure inside; external gas is drawn into the ejector under this pressure differential, thereby achieving gas suction. The entrained ClO₂ gas mixes with the water to form a disinfectant solution. Additionally, the water ejector is used for vacuuming in raw-material tanks.

      (2) Metering pump: delivers raw materials and regulates flow rate.

      (3) Reactor aeration port (air inlet): An air passage during equipment operation; during installation, it can be connected to a pipeline leading outdoors and kept open to the atmosphere.

      (4) Electrical Contact Pressure Gauge: The electrical contact pressure gauge is one of the devices used to ensure the safe operation of equipment. Its operating principle is as follows: when the water pressure at the front end of the ejector falls below the set value, the gauge signals the metering pump to stop feeding.

      (5) Raw Material Level Sensor: The raw material level sensor is another device designed to ensure the safe operation of the equipment. It is installed at the bottom of both raw material tanks; when either raw material is depleted, the metering pump will automatically stop feeding.

      (6) Temperature Controller: The temperature controller is the system’s heating control unit, ensuring the optimal reaction temperature for NaCl and hydrochloric acid.

      (7) Controller: The controller is the control core of the CLO2 generator, responsible for implementing the system’s full automatic control.

The dosing unit primarily consists of a solution tank, metering pump, electrical control system, piping, valves, and other components (configurable according to the user’s specific requirements).

Prepare the solution in the storage tank according to the required chemical concentration, and use a metering pump (dosing pump) to deliver the prepared solution to the dosing point or the designated system.

This device can also be custom-designed and equipped with the necessary components to meet the specific requirements of different user process flows, delivering functionality that is both suitable—such as automated remote control—and economically practical.

      2. Temperature requirements for the AB‑type chlorine dioxide generator

Temperature is critical for chlorine dioxide generators; therefore, certain temperature-related considerations must be taken into account during the reaction process.

Since the on-site generation of chlorine dioxide is a chemical reaction that is also endothermic, it places stringent demands on the temperature within the reactor. Relevant experimental data show that at a reactor temperature of 50°C, the feed conversion rate is approximately 50%; at 71°C, the conversion rate rises to 86%. However, at 80°C, the reaction proceeds so rapidly that side reactions dominate, ultimately resulting in a higher yield of chloride ions than of chlorine dioxide. Therefore, when operating a chlorine dioxide generator, careful temperature control is essential. If the temperature drops, insufficient heating can be addressed by preheating both the reactants and the inlet gas, thereby enhancing reaction efficiency and minimizing the formation of by‑products.

      3. Installation Requirements for AB-Component Chlorine Dioxide Generators

      1) The equipment shall be installed indoors, and the ambient operating temperature must be above 15°C.

      2) Chlorine dioxide is highly corrosive; therefore, during equipment installation, it should be kept in a separate room from other equipment.

      3) The equipment room shall have a cement floor and be equipped with a flushing water supply and a drainage sewer.

      4) An exhaust fan shall be installed in the disinfection room to ensure adequate ventilation.

      5) The equipment room shall be supplied with a pressurized water source, with a pressure of 0.2 to 0.4 MPa.

      6) The equipment room shall be equipped with necessary lighting and a single-phase three‑hole power outlet rated at 220 V, 5–10 A.
