In 1881, the mechanically vibrated baghouse dust-collection technology developed by Germany’s Betch factory was first put into commercial use.
In 1954, scientist HiVhersey invented the reverse-air pulse-jet cleaning technology, enabling baghouse dust collectors to integrate dust collection and cleaning into a single operation and increasing flue-gas treatment efficiency by several times.
In 1957, scientist T. V. Reinauer invented pulse‑jet baghouse technology, which is regarded as a major breakthrough in baghouse filtration. This innovation not only enables continuous filtration and dust cleaning but also stabilizes filter‑bag pressure, increases the treated gas flow rate, extends the service life of the filter fabric, and simplifies the system’s design.
Since the 1970s, baghouse technology has officially entered a phase of large-scale development. Countries including those in Europe and North America, Japan, and Australia have, in conjunction with large‑scale industrial production, successively developed large‑capacity baghouses—some with a single unit filtration area exceeding 10,000 m²—and applied them to coal‑fired power plants, the kiln outlets of dry‑process cement rotary kilns, and electric‑arc furnace dust collection.
