  • Product Overview

The disc‑type filter element consists of a stack of grooved discs; the intersection points formed by the groove edges trap solid particles in the water. By combining surface interception with depth filtration, it significantly enhances filtration efficiency. Moreover, disc filters offer high‑efficiency backwashing, fully automatic continuous operation, low self‑consumption of water, a small footprint, and reliable performance. The system’s backwashing cycles are staggered, with automatic switching between operating and backwashing modes, ensuring uninterrupted water supply and minimal pressure loss. Consequently, disc filters possess distinct technical advantages.

The disc‑stack filter is composed of filtration units arranged in parallel, with each unit primarily consisting of a set of annular, reinforced‑plastic filter discs featuring grooves or ridges. During filtration, wastewater enters from the outer side; the rim formed by the grooved edges of adjacent discs captures solid particles suspended in the water. During backwashing, water flows from the interior of the annular discs toward the exterior, flushing away the intercepted contaminants, which are then discharged through a drain port. Within each unit, the discs are tightly compressed and stacked, and the grooves between the upper and lower layers serve to trap and retain solids. As raw water passes through the filtration unit, it flows from the outside toward the inside, with particles larger than the groove dimensions being retained on the outer surface. The core component of the disc‑stack filter is a stack of plastic filter discs, each equipped with specially designed grooves or ridges. The grooves or ridges on adjacent discs create channels of a specific size, effectively capturing suspended particles whose diameter exceeds the channel dimensions, thereby achieving efficient filtration. This product can largely replace conventional mechanical filtration devices such as sand filters, offering superior performance and low energy and water consumption.

    Process Principle

The Laminated Filter system has two operating modes: filtration mode and backwash mode.
Filtration mode: In the filtration state, turbid water flows from the outside through the stacked discs. Under the combined action of spring force and hydraulic pressure, the discs are tightly pressed together, trapping impurity particles at the intersections of the discs. The filtered clean water then exits the filter.
Backwash mode: When a specified pressure differential or time interval is reached, the system automatically enters the backwashing phase. The control system switches the valve to reverse the water flow direction; the resulting backwash pressure compresses the spring, releasing the stacked discs. Nozzles mounted on the filter cartridge support then spray tangentially, causing the discs to rotate and flushing out the contaminants trapped on their surfaces.

    Product Features

    1. Precise filtration

Filter discs of varying precision can be selected to meet specific water‑use requirements, with a wide range of specifications including 20 μm, 50 μm, 80 μm, 100 μm, 120 μm, 150 μm, 200 μm, 300 μm, 400 μm, 500 μm, and 600 μm.

    2. The system maintains stable filtration efficiency.

This system employs grooved filter elements as its core filtration components, with performance meeting world-class standards. It effectively removes a wide range of suspended impurities, including both organic and inorganic contaminants.

    3. The system employs modular units, minimizing land footprint.

The interchangeability of the filter elements and interfaces in this system ensures a wide range of filtration configurations, allowing users to select and configure components as needed for maximum flexibility and adaptability, thereby meeting their specific operational requirements while maintaining a compact system design.

    4. Efficient backwashing, saving energy and water

The system’s backwash unit can complete a cycle in just 7 to 20 seconds. Under normal operating conditions, the water consumption for backwashing is less than 0.5% of the filtered water volume (50–100 liters per single filter unit per backwash). It also delivers highly effective flushing even for viscous contaminants, broadening its range of applications.

    5. Fully automatic control with continuous water output

The system’s filtration and backwashing processes operate simultaneously, with automatic maintenance that minimizes pressure loss and flow reduction. Backwashing is performed sequentially in alternating cycles while the rest of the system continues to operate normally, thereby ensuring higher operational efficiency.

    6. Simple maintenance

It requires virtually no routine maintenance, does not necessitate specialized tools, and has very few removable components.
